Characteristic

Characteristic

This chameleon is an endemic species of Hanang Mountain and is identified by the blue face.

* Because the chameleon of the photo on this page is a child, it seems that the face is not yet blue.

It is a relatively small type with a total length of about 12cm.

How to identify between similar species

This is the only specie whose face is blue, so it’s easy to identify.

Habitat

Mt. Hanang is the habitat.

Please refer to Manyara information for details.

Where to find

The habitat is high altitude (over 2800m), and no large trees grow around the campsite (southwest of the mountain), which is the recommended spot listed in the Manyara information.

Since there are only 2m trees, it seems to live at the same height as the line of sight.

A large tree grows in the southeastern part of the mountain, so if you go there, there may be many individuals.
